SPORT AND LEISURE
Mountain bikes roll effortlessly along the flat, quiet roads of Hua Hin. Zipping past a massive golden Buddha sitting peacefully by the roadside, surrounded by gorgeous limestone hills covered with lush forest. We stop for a moment to watch a group of curious macaque monkeys and then continue a few more kilometres. A road stall displaying fresh pineapples announces it’s time for a break.
Hua Hin is one of the few places in Thailand where you can go horse riding along the beach. For children there are ponies at both Hua Hin and Cha-Am’s beaches, as well as proper horses for adults. These are not wild horses that will gallop off at terrifying speeds leaving clouds of dust behind – they’re very tame and well trained to offer visitors an enjoyable experience.
Hua Hin is a great place to learn how to sail with its perfect wind conditions all year round. Hua Hin Sailing Club is a family club where everyone can learn to sail from 8 – 80 years. But it’s about much more than just sailing. It’s a great place on the beach with cool shade, trendy bar and a laid back atmosphere.
